Royal Trucking Adds EpicVue
Diversified carrier begins installing 250 in-cab satellite TV systems to enhance driver comfort and improve recruiting and retention efforts
SALT LAKE CITY– January 3, 2017 – EpicVue, providers of premium in-cab satellite TV packaged exclusively for the trucking industry, today announced that Royal Trucking began installing EpicVue in its entire fleet of 250 tractors in the early fall of 2017.
“Our team of 250 professional drivers is dedicated to delivering goods for customers safely and efficiently,” said Billy Milican, owner and president of Royal Trucking. “Along with providing them with modern, state-of-the-art equipment, excellent pay, bonuses and other incentives, we felt that EpicVue would add a comfort of home to our tractors. By the eagerness of our drivers to have the in-cab satellite TV systems installed in their tractors, we also believe it will help our retention efforts and offset the $3,000 it cost us to recruit each new driver.”
Royal Trucking Company, founded in 1968 serves the dry van, flatbed and specialized equipment needs of customers across the 48 contiguous U.S. states and most Canadian provinces. Headquartered in West Point, Mississippi, the carrier fields 250 tractors from terminals in Mississippi and Georgia.
“Whether it's for local, regional or national service, Royal Trucking is focused on providing its broad base of clients with reliable freight transportation,” said Lance Platt, CEO of EpicVue. “We are pleased they have chosen our in-cab satellite TV systems to provide their drivers with the comforts of home and to help improve driver retention and lower recruiting costs.”
Salt Lake City-based EpicVue was formed by individuals with years of combined experience in the satellite and television industries. The company offers a TV viewing package specifically designed for commercial fleets. Used as a tool to assist with recruiting, retaining and improving driver quality of life, the EpicVue package brings more than 100 channels of DIRECTV programming, including premium channels such as HBO/Cinemax, SHOWTIME and the NFL Sunday Ticket, into the comfort of a driver’s sleeper for a monthly subscription fee and without any upfront hardware costs.
